2020 Toyota Highlander in Rogers, AR

There's a new Highlander in town. The preferred mid-size SUV for families has received some pretty cool updates for 2020, like a new safety system and updated tech. The next-generation model is set to rollout late this year and we're itching to get our hands on it here at Steve Landers Toyota NWA in Rogers.

There will be nine grades of the 2020 Highlander, five gas and four hybrids. They are L, LE, LE Hybrid, XLE, XLE Hybrid, Limited, Limited Hybrid, Platinum and Platinum Hybrid.

As there are both gas and hybrid grades of the 2020 Toyota Highlander, there here are two different powertrains. The gas grades have a powerful V6 engine under the hood that will produce approximately 22 combined MPG. The hybrids will utilize a new-generation hybrid powertrain that delivers an estimated 34 combined MPG.

The 2020 Highlander Hybrid will offer best-in-class fuel economy, including a 17 percent fuel economy improvement over the current generation hybrid with an estimated 34 mpg combined. We don't have official word on the specifics of the new-generation hybrid powertrain but the current Highlander uses a V6 paired with an electric motor. We suspect the new generation to have a four-cylinder to improve fuel economy, but with Toyota's fantastic track record of hybrid powertrains, we know it will be smooth, responsive, and ultimately the best efficiency choice for your drives.

Wherever your destination, the Highlander will get you there in style with its cool new technology features. There are plenty of USB ports throughout the car to charge up any device and the center stack has an available Qi wireless charging pad. All 2020 Highlander grades, save for the Platinum, have an 8-inch touchscreen. The Platinum and Platinum Hybrid upgrade to a huge 12.3-inch screen. With the available JBL Premium Sound System, playing music from your connected divide or on the radio you and your passengers won't be able to resist groving and singing along in your seats.

Multimedia and high MPG are great reasons to buy the 2020 Highlander, but the best reason is Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, or TSS 2.0. This upgraded suite of safety features includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Lane Tracing Assist and Road Sign Assist. The last two are new to TSS. Click on the link in this paragraph for details on each feature.

The 2020 Highlander comes in fun colors too. Returning hues are Blizzard Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic and Midnight Black. New for 2020 are Magnetic Gray Metallic, Moon Dust, Ruby Flare Pearl, Blueprint and Opulent Amber.

The fourth-generation 2020 Highlander gas grades are set to arrive here at Steve Landers Toyota of Northwest Arkansas in December and the hybrid grades will be delivered in February of 2020.
